Get energy efficient

You can learn how you can manage your energy usage to stay warm and comfortable but keep your bills at an affordable cost.

Why are my energy bills high?

Your energy bills are higher because there are currently gas supply shortages. This means there is an increased global demand, which has increased the wholesale price of gas. Your energy cost is also influenced by your suppliers' infrastructure upgrades, as these will increase any standing charges and network costs; and this all differs depending on which supplier you are with and where you live in the UK.

How can I save money on my energy bills?

Here is a list of different things you can do to reduce your energy costs but in a way which does not affect you being warm and comfortable.

  1. Heating and Insulations

By making small changes to how you utilise your heating and insulate your home you could save a lot of money. From turning your thermostat down by 1°C to bleeding your radiators, you could still keep your home warm.

  1. Efficient Hot Water Use

From taking shorter showers to only boiling the water you need when making a hot drink, you could save yourself £100s a year.

  1. Reducing Electricity Consumption

It may seem obvious but simple things like turning off your appliances when you are not using them, or washing your clothes at 30°C will save you money and energy.
