The number of people falling into arrears is a growing concern. To address this, We Are Group manage the Pound Advice programme on behalf of L&Q.
Launched in April 2019, the Pound Advice programme is a free debt advice service which has helped over 22,000 L&Q residents and leaseholders struggling with mounting debt. Focusing on rent debt and recovery, the service is open to L&Q residents who are facing financial hardship and require support to retain control of their situation. By educating residents on how to deal with their money worries, we encourage them to take control of their debt and prevent a future financial crisis.
Our Impact
In 2023, each resident who experienced our Debt Advice service gained £3,000 (on average).
We have put over £50 million into the pockets of their residents in reduced debt, reduced outgoings, and increased income.
70% of people felt more confident managing their money after being
supported by our Debt Advice service.
