We Are Group to continue delivering the Assisted Digital service for the Windrush Compensation Scheme

March 28, 2025

Following a competitive tender process, We Are Group has been successfully awarded the contract to manage and deliver the Assisted Digital service for the Windrush Compensation Scheme, in partnership with the Home Office. This marks a continuation of the services We Are Group has been providing since 2020, with the new contract set to span another three years.

The Assisted Digital service plays a crucial role in ensuring that claimants have access to the necessary support when completing their applications for compensation. Our dedicated team is committed to helping individuals fill out their applications accurately and thoroughly, ensuring that all required paperwork is included and no vital information is overlooked. This support helps to ensure that applications are correct and complete before submission, streamlining the process and aiding claimants in receiving the compensation they deserve.

As part of the service, claimants also have the flexibility to choose between remote appointments that take place over the phone or face-to-face appointments at a local community centre or at their home.

A Home Office Spokesperson said:

"The Windrush generation has made immeasurable contributions to British society, and delivering justice for those affected by this historical injustice remains a Home Office priority.

We are pleased that the contract with We Are Group has been reviewed and extended, providing essential continuity of service and support to those applying to the Windrush Compensation Scheme.

This partnership underscores our commitment to running the compensation scheme effectively and restoring dignity to those who have suffered."

Jonathan Prew, Managing Director of We Are Group, said:

"We are honoured to continue our relationship with the Home Office and offer support to those seeking compensation as part of the Windrush Compensation Scheme.

By using our national network of Community Partners, we are pleased to support those individuals to receive the compensation that they are entitled to.

Since starting the Assisted Digital service delivery for the Windrush Compensation Scheme in 2020, we have supported over 3,700 individuals with their claims process and the new contract will see even more individuals and families supported."

We Are Group remains dedicated to providing a high-quality Assisted Digital service that meets the needs of claimants, ensuring a smooth and supportive application process. We look forward to continuing our work with the Home Office, supporting the Windrush community, and enabling access to justice and compensation.
