Downing Street visit for We Are Digital

July 27, 2018

July saw Matthew Adam, CEO of We Are Digital, was invited to attend an Inclusive Economy Partnership (IEP) reception at Downing Street. The event served as a celebration of businesses which are working to ensure all communities, and the individuals within them, feel they belong to and can participate in the UK economy.

The IEP, which is funded by the Cabinet Office and DCMS, is a partnership of businesses, civil society organisations and government departments, which are working collaboratively to solve some of society’s most deeply ingrained issues, including lack of financial inclusion.  The Downing Street reception served as the final event in a programme of activities designed to give SMEs the chance to engage with larger businesses and secure grant funding.

We Are Digital was one of 18 businesses invited to the reception, which was also attended by Oliver Dowden MP CBE, Minister for Implementation at the Cabinet Office.

Alongside the financial inclusion programme We Are Digital was involved with, the IEP also ran initiatives for mental health and youth unemployment.

Commenting on the event, Matthew Adam said: “It was a real honour to attend the IEP event at Downing Street. We Are Digital has long recognised the importance of collaboration between government and businesses in ensuring community-wide inclusivity. Programmes such as the IEP play a vital role in reaching even the most isolated members of society.

“It was great to meet and engage with such a variety of businesses and organisations, and I’d like to thank the IEP for organising the day.”
