On 12 September 2023, the Data Poverty All Party Parliamentary Group presented the second State of the Nation Report at the UK House of Lords. We Are Digital are both honoured and thrilled to be the only small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) featured in this year's report.
The report discusses our innovative solution to tackle the fragmentation of the welfare system. Our approach involves leveraging digital capabilities to ensure that all people have a one-contact source to access the support they need.
Central to our solution is our Wel-Tech Platform, a pioneering initiative that “joins the dots” and provides a seamless journey for people seeking access to guidance, training, and advice.
On average, people with very high digital capability can save more money and earn more money. Therefore, our large-scale, community-led programmes, run in partnership with Government, Local Authorities, Housing Associations, and Corporate Businesses, and managed via our Wel-Tech Platform, are designed to enhance digital skills, improve financial awareness, and ultimately lessen economic pressures. In this way, we believe that our Wel-Tech Platform is essential in reducing poverty and inequality in the UK.
Our efforts have not gone unnoticed. We are proud that our work has been featured in this report. This comes on top of being finalists for the 2023 Impact Awards under the Digital Poverty category, and being nominated for the Tech 4 Good Award at the Investor All Stars awards. These recognitions affirm our commitment to improving lives through technology.
